For several years and with the rollout of HD, Hybrid Digital technology, WWMI did broadcast in hybrid digital (HD) on 1380 in full stereo until sometime in 2014 when it was discovered that WWMI did turn of its HD signal, to revert back to broadcasting just a monaural, analogue signal. But during the timespan that WWMI did broadcast in HD, it was found that their sound quality on an HD-capable receiver was outstanding during the music they played, and the quality of the signal was so clear that it was even able to reveal the fairly inferior quality of the mics each of their jocks used and the bitrate the jock's voices were being restricted to for some reason. It was unfortunate to discover WWMI's thunderous HD stereo signal had left the air, as it was a treat to track the station's signal while on commutes along US19 in Pinellas County and around the Tampa-Bay area.
