My name is Christina Mbuya and I am a Tallahassee native, graduate student and engaged Floridian. I know that this station offers perspectives on specific issues relevant to Leon County and Tallahassee, and I would like to discuss an exceptionally important one: the environment. As a student pursuing a Masters in Environmental Science, the planet's condition is a subject I am incredibly familiar with. I worked with a local Tally non-profit, ReThink Energy Florida, for 2 years as Director of Education and I know that many Tally residents, particularly children, are concerned with the environment. I would like to discuss Tallahassee's great strides in being an environmental leader, the youth's perceptions on environmental change, and sustainability tips. Aside from being knowledgeable on topics related to natural/physical sciences and policy, I am an interesting person who has worn many hats and has a unique take on environmental progress.
