I am an avid short wave listener. For many years growing up in the 1960's and 70's, I listened to Radio Moscow and Voice of America telling the same story with an extreme slant towards their country's geopolitical perception. This station is no different. It is polite way at times with a lot of local stories, and at others in your face broadcasting straight up propaganda. Especially when the Chinese national news comes on. No doubt to make sure anyone in D.C. who is interested in reading between the line's China's perception of geopolitical situations hears it. They just hired a new radio afternoon host with a history of putting together local news story podcasts etc......at least that is what he said. (sounds like he is from Denver) Of note, the traditional shortwave radio programs have mostly been bought out and replaced by religious broadcasters who see the value in their world wide reach. There are still a few remaining country affiliated stations, like voice of Vietnam, but very few. That is why listening to WCRW on your local AM is a really interesting. I wonder how long it will be before your town's local AM radio Chinese owned station will be playing car ads in your town?
