We have run into a problem with our "girls, South City Knights Cheer Leading." We, thankfully the AD, Coaches and parents***NOT THE GIRLS*** have been told that there will be NO cheer leading uniforms. And in a not word for word quote, its because there is no money EXCEPT for the boys uniforms.... Our girls had to watch the boys get all their NEW....uniforms and were expecting theirs as well while standing in line waiting.......The, AGAIN, (not a quote word for word,) reason given was the boys needed theirs and the girls really don't......In addition the $ raised on the 29th at the South City Jamboree being held at Jackson Park, will go to the club.....Not for the girls as will any additional $ raised...If anyone knows why this club can't help, as all the other's in and around Roanoke have already bought their girls new uniforms, let 7, 10 or Fox 21/27 know.. Or any of us...We have some VERY SAD girls that of course do NOT understand......ALSO any $ for our girls uniforms would be greatly welcome......we'd buy everyone one because it's hard for some parents to have to buy more than 1 since they have more than one cheering... PLEASE PASS THIS ON! THANKS!! I'd even be happy to get you in contact with the Ath. Director if you'd like to talk with her or maybe even do a story...Thanks for all your hard work! Don't know if you can help or know someone that could...~~~~Would love to have you at the South City Knights Jamboree for the public on the 29th of Aug... free to the public!!~~~~~ Thanks for all your hard work! Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Virginia is holding Walk Like MADD on May 7 at 9 am at Fallon Park in Roanoke. This 5k (3.1 mile) non- competitive Walk is a good opportunity for people of all ages to come together to help stop impaired driving. Two in three people will be impacted by an impaired driving crash in their lifetime.
Please get your club, friends, or school to sign up to Walk. You can form a team or Walk as individuals. The registration site is www.walklikemadd.org/roanoke.
Contact me if you have any questions about the Walk or about MADD. Area Law Enforcement will have a big presence at the Walk including a DUI Simulator Golf Cart.
