WISCONSIN RAPIDS WOMAN SHEDS 84 POUNDS THRU NON-PROFIT AS MANY STRUGGLE WITH NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS
With the “Eating Season” and all the parties, food, and drink coming to an end, the new year is a great time to commit to a healthier lifestyle.
For instance, Kathy Maxwell of Wisconsin Rapids lost an impressive 84 pounds through the nonprofit, weight-loss and support organization TOPS Take Off Pounds Sensibly (www.tops.org).
She is an excellent example of healthy weight loss. The support she receives from TOPS and her fellow TOPS members at their weekly meetings, along with practicing portion control and regular exercise, are the keys to her success.
“TOPS gives you all the information and tools and the support is huge. It’s not a quick fix. You are worth it!,” she said.
With the he obesity rate in Wisconsin standing at 32% of the adult population, you can see the need to address this issue from an individual and public health standpoint.
Wisconsin TOPS members lost a total of 16,310 pounds last year.
“If you come to a meeting, nine times out of 10, you’re going to find somebody that’s going through the same thing that you’re going through,” Maxwell said.
In the hopes of helping others, Maxwell is willing to share her story. I would like the opportunity to speak with you about arranging an interview for a story that I believe your readers will find informational and intriguing.
TOPS offers an individual approach to weight loss and overall wellness. Each member decides their weight loss goal in consultation with their health care professional. Consistent group support, health education, and recognition are all key components to successful weight management.
Founded in Milwaukee, Wis., in 1948, TOPS has been leading the charge in preventing and managing obesity internationally. Part of that dedication includes supporting obesity research through scientific awards and scholarships . TOPS has donated more than $9 million to medical research in the U.S. and Canada.
I would appreciate hearing from you about arranging an interview.
Thank you for your consideration.
