Sounds like a decent station but not sure if they have voice-tracking and music on hard drive at the moment. The call letters are available because WPKN in Bridgeport, CT dropped their translator in Montauk, NY. Looks like there are a lot of available frequencies (or were) because Wood County Board of Ed. has a station as well as WV Public Broadcasting Authority, Ohio University Broadcasting. Looks like every major organization that wants a station and can afford to undertake the expense will likely have one for the asking. I much prefer internet-only broadcasting and college radio. Cannot tolerate the same old thing over and over again on the commercial, terrestrial stations offered to us by Cumulus, iHeart and others.
The lower-power stations populate the FM band oustide of the educational area (88.1 to 91.9) as well as the low power fm's.
