Volunteers of Next Level Trainings to join forces with non-profit, the Villedge
Creating a better world in connecting with “at risk” teens from difficult areas in Greater Cincinnati
CINCINNATI, OH – The 25th leadership class of Next Level Trainings has chosen to support Villedge Inc. of Cincinnati, OH. They are committed to raising $64,000, providing 256 hours of volunteer support, collecting tangible goods, as well as improving and creating Villedge’s infrastructure on November 30th
with an Improvement Projects day. They will also host a fundraising event on Sunday, December 1st in support of their efforts at St. Mary’s School Gymnasium in German Village. The deadline for their commitments is December 5th, when they will host a celebratory event to present the donated goods and fundraising check to Villedge Inc.
Villedge, Inc. supports “at risk” teens who are in and out of detention centers, courtrooms, foster homes, shelters, and various schools. The labels placed on them, diagnoses, work plans, and programs in these difficult environments have shown no substantial life change. “As a result of this support from Next Level Trainings,” Katie Nzekwu, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Villedge Inc. stated, “we will be able to give to more kids and to our community.” The goal of the Villedge is to take these “at risk” teens and break the cycles of dysfunction, weaving them back into the fabric of their communities, to become leaders who empower the younger generation to do the same. “We are grateful to see our Villedge grow and for the love, enthusiasm, and support that is being given to us from those associated with Next Level.” This growth will continue to support stable foster care placements and teens in avoiding residential treatment and detention centers. “We view this growth as saving one life at a time and transforming it with love and compassion,” stated Beth Dobish with Next Level Trainings. “We believe the change starts with one person and continues to expand.”
Through connection and healthy relationships to safe adults, these teens move from surviving to thriving in their community. “Our whole vision for Villedge is predicated on the belief that people care about these kids just as much as we do and will join us to give them an opportunity to live a full life,” said Nzekwu, when asked what she envisioned for this youth center. Nzekwu went on to discuss the partnership with Next Level Trainings, “They have joined hands with us and united us in our humanity to recognize the power we hold to step into someone’s story and drastically change the outcome.”
The last day to give to this fundraising effort is December 5, 2019. To RSVP to the December 1st event being held in German Village, contact Laya Fodor (419) 606-7821 or Cindy Taylor (859) 806-7218.
