105.5 WLPW was my first radio job. It was the early 1980’s and Lake Placid very much had the Olympic “vibe”, it was felt in Main Street, and the Tri Lakes region. Radio Lake Placid was a great place to work, and to this day I appreciate the freedom given to me on the air. I learned a lot working on the air as a kid in his early 20’s. Bob Mack was the Program Manager that gave me my start and he was the person that was Radio Lake Placid. Bob’s voice was worthy of a major market. Working in the studios atop Olympic Drive remains one of many great memories. G.J.C.
