I wanted to ask your assistance in getting out this story about what happen to me at the Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Raleigh; I was not able to explain it fully on the phone, when I called earlier this morning. Please, take the time to review the information that i have enclosed. I am available to speak with you between 10 and 4 M-F and 12:00 to 3:00 on Saturday and Sunday. I attend Journey Church on Sunday. Here is a brief explanation of what happen. The Raleigh Police Department was involved and their Internal Affairs Department was made aware of what happen. The Grand Jury on this case has released Testimony that could be very helpful, just ask the city attorney for this information.
I was Racially Profile by the Management of The Sheraton Downtown Raleigh and the Raleigh Police Department. I report the Police to their Internal Affairs Department . Here is copy of my correspondence with them. I would like someone to tell me that the Law Works for Regular People. I know it must.
(Here is What Happen in Email sent to Police and Sheraton Headquarters)
Subject: Violations of Public Accommodations Law by Raleigh Downtown Sheraton
Date: January 11, 2016 1:12:09 PM EST
My Name is Patrick L Kenan-Bruce and I was stopped in the lobby of your Property located at 421 South Salisbury st, Raleigh , NC; about 4 months ago by two police officers of the Raleigh Police Dept. They stopped me at the request of one of your employees and told me I was not allow to use the Public Restroom. I was not a guest but under the Federal Public Accommodations Law; public restrooms are open to anyone who needs them, other wise they would be marked "private".
1. I was stopped and questioned for no reason. I am a person of color and I found this action very distressful. Things like this are not suppose to be happening anymore.
2. I was told that I was "Trespassed" which the Employee had no right to do. Only a Judge or other judicial official has the ability to make a legal running of law and Trespassing is a legal determination of law.
3. I returned yesterday to get information on how to log a official complaint.
I would like to talk with someone concerning this matter. I will be contacting the Justice Dept and logging a complaint.(Please give me a call)
