Hello, My name is Alyssa. A little about me. I lost more than half of my tongue because of a cancerous tumor. A 14.5 hour surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital saved my life and a dedicated team of surgeons reconstructed my tongue and like Humpty Dumpty, put me back together again. Now I’m giving back and have founded The HNC FUND [HNCFUND.com]. The HNC Fund is a Nonprofit that helps facilitate comprehensive financial support for the well-being of one Head and Neck Cancer patient a year. Our patient of the year, Maggie met her husband Byron in High-school, but they didn’t begin dating until they were in their twenties! He proposed in Paris, France and they were married on Sept 3, 2016. Maggie was 33 years old, an avid runner, vegan, Beyoncé and Fab Five enthusiast! She was an illustrator and graphic designer who lived in NYC and in her spare time loved to paint. Sadly, the bliss of being newlyweds and looking forward to having a family of their own was put on hold. For two years, Maggie battled cancers that spread throughout her body. Her strength, courage, tenacity to fight, sense of humor and optimism is REMARKABLE. We are HONORED to call her our patient of the year and DEAR friend! TV/Radio notice This is Pastor Bob Calvert, Sonshine Church & School, 12925 Palm Beach Blvd. Ft. Myers. Considering all the recent negative reflection on Law Enforcement, we are giving a Tribute to Law Enforcement, to show our appreciation for their service. July 1, 2, 3, we are serving Free Lunches to All Law Enforcement, 11am-2pm, at the Sonshine Cafe, 12925 Palm Beach Blvd. Their families are invited also. No reservations needed. Just stop in. We have a 30 second TV spot that will be airing on TV this week and Flyers also.
