Hi. I am putting together a modeling school for overweight kids to help them be more positive about themselves. This kind of training isn't all about glitz & glamour. It's about helping kids feel good about how they look despite their weight. No judgements in this class. Also will be teaching the kids to eat healthy. To make a donation, contact April at 772-210-4472. Have a blessed day. April B. P.S. Let's help these kids start the new year off healthy and happy.

Hi, I am Sergeant First class Jerry Lawson an Army JROTC instructor at Ft. Pierce Central High School in Ft. Pierce FL. I am contacting you because the FPCHS JROTC booster club is doing a Parking Lot Yard Sale fundraiser in the parking lot of our school on October 27, 2018, from 8am to 2pm to raise funds for our students. The way it works is: Anyone who wants to be a vendor (sale something) would purchase a parking space from me for $25.00 and display their treasures as shoppers are going through looking for treasures. Any money vendors make, they keep unless they want to donate it all or a portion to the JROTC program…their choice. This is a way for people to clean the garage or attic of things they always wanted to get rid of in a much larger setting, kind of like a flea market. The JROTC program is a big part of our student’s lives. They are involved in community service projects, they participate in activities exclusive to the JROTC program. The only problem is, funds are not there, so we are always looking for sponsors, donors, and doing fundraisers to offset the cost of the activities. So anything you or your listeners can do to help, we welcome it. A flyer is attached for more information. There is also a space with your name on it if you are interested in advertising, being a vendor, or maybe you just want to shop, either way you are welcome. So, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at jerry.lawson@stlucieschools.org, or at (757) 630-8488. Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

A local nonprofit agency is bringing together children and senior citizens for “Make This World A Better Place” Mindfulness experience project that will bring peace, mental health and safety to thousands of people all over the world. We have meditators from Columbia, Trinidad, Senegal, Jamaica, Japan…. Dreamcatchers for the Soul Foundation Inc. provides self-discovery and empowerment services for both children and the senior community. The main objective is to combat the mental health difficulties that arise from stressors such as the Covid-19 Pandemic, that leave both groups helpless and isolated from the nurture of their communities. Dreamcatchers serve children and seniors who are facing the impact of trauma, health and financial challenges and other life stressors such as: homelessness, mental health and substance abuse issues; divorce/custody issues, abuse and neglect and serve individuals with special needs. They currently offer the following programs: Tai Chi, Qi gong, yoga, Reiki, and healthy eating mentorships and education, just to name a few. On November 19th, 2020, the agency will formally announce the creation of an herbal labyrinth with a sustainable garden. The project launch coincides with the annual Give Miami day, to highlight Dream catcher’s transformational work. CEO Pamella Reid set forth a powerful vision to integrate the labyrinth with local schools in both counties, in order to enhance History and STEM programs. Ms. Reid stated “There are no labyrinths in Miami- Dade or Broward Counties. When you give this day, this is where your money will go.” Dreamcatcher’s for the Soul wants to bring people together of all races, ethnicities, religions, and genders as part of a Mindfulness centered transformation on this Earth by planting seeds of kindness, love and compassion, together we can raise the vibrations of everyone on this planet. According to research, children and seniors that live in fear and isolation and have no effective coping skills can have depleted immune systems, which can lead to disease. In the times that we are living now with a massive pandemic, we cannot afford for ourselves or others to be depleted. We must advocate for those underprivileged groups that need our support. Be part of the solution and stand for a healthier community. Join us on November 19th for an amazing 24 hours of meditation and mindfulness event as we host experts in mindfulness and mediation from around the world and help us kickstart our labor of love Labyrinth project. We hope to have you take a stand and participate by going to www.dcfts.org and signing up to participate in this “Make this world a better place” mindfulness experience. For more information about Dream Catchers for the Soul, please e-mail Pamella Reid at pam@dcfts.org or call at (954)558-0632.
