MATUNDA (FRUIT ) YA ( OF) YESU (JESUS) YOUTH CHOIR (MATUNDA YA YESU) AND THE SOUTH AFRICAN ORION DUET-LUNGILE AND NKAZI SINANDILE CELEBRATE IMMIGRANT AND REFUGEE JOURNEYS
Under the direction of Lungile Sinandile, co-founder alongside his wife Nkazi Sinandile, the Matunda Ya Yesu African Youth Choir is stepping out into the mainstream.
Young refugees arriving from refugee camps of Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Chad, Rwanda, and Mozambique, find it very difficult to assimilate in the United States of America especially those who do not speak English. 90% of the Matunda Ya Yesu choir speak very little or no English. Outside of school they find nurture during choir practices where they find camaraderie, while being taught techniques of vocal singing, drumming, performance and training. Weekly they attend after school tutoring at Immigrant And Refugee Resource Village of Albuquerque ( 100 % volunteer driven unfunded nonprofit) and craft skills training in sewing at New Mexico Women’s Global Pathways also nonprofit that is directed by Nkazi Sinandile.
The Public is invited to hear rich African harmonies by the choir and the South African Orion Duet. Add to this energetic movement and vibrant colorful outfits. This youthful dynamic choir performs both traditional and contemporary music, adding its own culturally inspired interpretation. The ensemble performs in Swahili, English, Kirundi, Kinyarwanda, Bembe, Xhosa and Zulu. Free Admission but donations will be collected. All proceeds go to the choir members for shelter, tutoring, social enrichment, food and clothing of themselves and family members, who find it very difficult to find jobs and retain them.
Venue: Campus Hill Church 11057 Hill Drive, Loma Linda, California, 92354-2725
Time: 7.00 p.m.
Free Admission, but free will donations will be collected to help provide English as a Second language, sewing and other craft skills training, food, clothing and back to school supplies.
Date: Saturday, July 22, 2017.
CD’s, Books, DVD’s and crafts sewn by some of the youth will be on sale after the concert.

I live in the west end of Yucaipa and can pick up your station when driving. God has prompted me to turn my car radio to your station. But when I get home, I want to receive your station on the computer. Is this possible.?
