KRSN. I'm glad it's back on the air.
As a second generation owner, operator of KRSN in Los Alamos, now very much retired. it was good to hear 1490AM back on the air.
I've been retired now for about 20 years. During that time the broadcast industry has changed. Ownership rules is the biggest one. The equipment! broadcast transmitters have gotten smaller and studio consoles are gone, cart machines gone. It doesn't seem like you need as much space for a studio any more.
KRSN AM was put on the air during the Manhattan project. My dad came to Los Alamos in 1956 and purchased the station. Shortly after that he added 98.5 FM the second FM station in the state.
There is a lot of history with KRSN but it seems like with many other older radio stations their history fades along with their signal.
