The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) begin a project to upgrade a portion of Farm to Market 342 in Limestone County, June 21, 2018.
The project, designed to increase safety along FM 342, will reconstruct, widen and resurface the roadway from FM 339, south of Prairie Hill to the McLennan County Line. The existing travel lanes will be expanded an additional 12” in width with 4’ added to the shoulders. Additionally, safety end-treatments will be applied to culvert-ends at cross drainage locations under the roadway and adjoining private driveways.
The 5-mile project, is being undertaken by Bear Creek Construction, Inc., of Waco, at a cost of $698,000 and is scheduled for completion in the winter of this year, weather permitting.
Temporary delays and restricted travel lanes can be expected from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday, for the duration of the project. Motorists are urged to observe all warning signs and exercise caution when passing near construction personnel and equipment in the project area.
