Good Morning, Please view the attached flyer and the information for the parade. On behalf of the Father Rahm Segundo Barrio Person of the Year Award Parade committee, we would like to invite you and your organization to this year's parade. We are excited to host our 4th annual celebration. Saturday, April 28 , 2018 9:00 am starting at San Ignacio Church: 408 Park St Ending at Sacred Heart Church Gym This year's recipient is Mr. Salvador Balcorta. Like other Segundo Barrio children Balcorta knew the harsh realities of growing up within a seemingly endless cycle of poverty. Drugs, gangs, substandard housing and non-existent health resources were daily facts of life. For 25 years Salvador Balcorta, MSSW has served as CEO of Centro de Salud Familiar La Fe-and has been instrumental in establishing community grassroots initiatives which have won state and national recognition for their innovative approaches to addressing the health needs of area families. La Fe has emerged as a growing El Paso County-wide network of 22 community-health, education, behavioral-health, social service, and human-services sites.

I know this may be out of the ordinary and against the submission rules, however, I'm giving this a try anyway. This composition was written by Don Langley and the vocals recorded by Matthew Douglas, an 11-year-old who wishes for A Beautiful Place where there is hope for all children and people of all ages to live in a better world. I originally wrote the music after the gun violence in Parkland Florida hoping for change, and when Matthew stepped up to the microphone and recorded the words in one take, I knew that it came from his heart. Matthew had a scare in his school and with all the violence, he asked to record this song and I am so pleased that he did. You may not be able to play the music on air, however, someway we hope that this current composition becomes less current and that the words may offer some sense of hope for all those who have lost family and friends. The composition is also on Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music, and Itunes. https://www.YouTube.com/results?search_query=a+beautiful+place+don+langley Sincerely, Don Don Langley Composer A Beautiful Place www.donlangley.ca don@donlangley.ca www.newdiscoveries.ca info@newdiscoveries.ca
