Media Contact: Tony McCammon, University of Idaho Extension, Twin Falls County, (208) 734-9590, tonym@uidaho.edu South Idaho Gardening Symposium Planned Nov. 7 in Burley BURLEY, Idaho – The 7th South Idaho Garden Symposium planned Saturday, Nov. 7 will offer the public insights into gardening from the ground-up in southern Idaho. Participants will learn strategies to deal with tough soil problems, see gardens from the perspective of a honeybee, and figure out what plants are telling us. In addition, there will be suggestions for the best plants to use and how to keep trees healthy through a drought year. The symposium is sponsored by University of Idaho Extension and Twin Falls and Mini-Cassia Master Gardener Associations. Registration will be limited to 100, and pre-registrations are accepted through Oct. 28. Registration is $35 and includes a breakfast and lunch buffet. The symposium will be held at Morrey’s Steakhouse in Burley. The symposium also offers an opportunity for the public to learn more about and get signed-up for the upcoming 2016 Master Gardener program offered in Burley on Wednesday NIGHTS. The Twin Falls County Extension Office offers information about master gardener classes by calling (208) 734-9590. The symposium opens at 8 a.m. with the program running from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local gardening related businesses and non-profits will host displays and there will be door prizes, a silent auction, and a free raffles.
