To Whom It May Concern:
We are writing you to share some news about an exciting thing that has happened in the state of Alaska and asking for your help. We are 8th graders from Nenana and our class participated in the Verizon Innovative App Challenge this past fall. We recently were informed that we have been awarded the Best-in-State award for our app EDU@HOME in the Verizon Innovative App Challenge! Our app EDU@HOME is a planner that is on your phone or tablet however, once work is entered it syncs with your parents’ phone so they know when homework is due. We came up with this idea for an app because there is a problem using planners effectively and keeping track of them in our class. We are now trying to win the Fan Favorite award which would guarantee us a trip to Nashville, Tennessee to actually create our app with MIT professionals. In order to make that happen we need your help! We need people to vote for our app by texting EDU1 and/or EDU2 to 22333. You can only vote once so every vote counts!
This app could be used in schools around the nation and would eliminate the need for paper planners. We feel this app is very effective because it automatically syncs to our parents’ phone so they know exactly what needs to be done for homework. It also allows the teacher to view what was entered and make changes or add notes if necessary.
Thank you for your time and consideration. If you could share this information and help us make this app happen we would be forever grateful!
Sincerely,
James Knutsen, Kace Kauffman, Tyler Wright, Morgan Cutchall, Hannah Kaiser and Mrs. Mindy Jacobsen
