1590 AM KGFK is known as "Rock 107.9" and plays a mix of classic rock and new rock. It is also on 107.9 FM and 95.7 FM in Grand Forks, ND. It is a competitor to longtime Rock station "KJ108" (107.5 FM KJKJ).

The station was a longtime talk radio station with the KCNN call letters until 2007, when classic country station "The Rooster" moved from 94.7 FM to 1590 AM (94.7 FM became classic rock and later Top 40). This was short lived as it changed to sports programming from Fox Sports Radio in 2009. Fox Sports Radio was also short lived as it changed to a Rock music format as "Rock 107.9" in the winter of 2010 in conjunction with 107.9 FM signing on the air. 95.7 FM signed on the air in the fall of 2011 because 107.9 FM has poor reception in parts of Grand Forks.
