Revitalizing Former YMCA Building
Downtown Fitness is a new fitness center opening in downtown Fresno. We have acquired the former YMCA building with the intent to fully restore this iconic building to its former glory with the added benefits of an updated & modern facility. Much of the Fresno Community has been impacted in some way during their life by this iconic building, which we hope to return to its former glory.
Restoration and updating of this iconic building is an enormous task, involving a complete remodel of the interior of the buildings. Downtown Fitness has restored some of the main building and will be continuing a thorough re-building of the entire facility over the coming months.
When complete DTF will provide the convenience of a downtown fitness center, full basketball court and aquatic center as well as provide much-needed and long-overdue kids’ camps.
It is the goal of Downtown Fitness to work with community partners to offer free programs for the community’s children and affordable memberships for gym members.
Downtown Fitness will be hosting an Open House September 17th, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a free lunch hosted by Hometown Buffet, facility tours, and community sign-ups.
We appreciate and encourage the media’s involvement to spread the word to our community.

Hello!
I was hoping you could make an announcement about a free, public event the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has coming up.
Trout Fest is a free kid's fishing event at the Hot Creek Hatchery on Saturday June 30th at 9am-1pm. The kid's will learn all about responsible angling- from how to clean a trout, cook a trout, and even catch a trout. All fishing gear is provided. It's a great way to introduce them to the fun world of angling.
It would be greatly appreciated! If you have any questions or concerns you may email me back at troutfest@wildlife.ca.gov or call Jana the coordinator at (916) 539-6644
