Good Morning, We have Open Enrollment for our Head Start Program March 28, 2019, for the 2019-2020 school year. I wanted to know if you could help us with a public service announcement. We serve 583 children a year in our Early Head Start, ages 0-3, and Head Start, ages 3-5, and we follow the SAISD calendar. We have about 240 child that graduate each year, and others that move out of town, etc., and I usually need about 300 applications for children ages 3-5 by August 2019. Head Start / Early Head Start offers children in poverty an education before they enter Kindergarten, so that all children have a head start on education. It is a Federally Funded program, families have to qualify by age and income. The child has to be 3 years of age by September 1, 2019, and the family has to meet the, 2019 – 2020 Federal Poverty Guidelines, in order to qualify. Attached is the March 28, 2019 Flyer.
