Please announce our annual "Gathering of the People: the Pow wow of the Confederated Tribes of the Lower Rogue which will be held this Saturday and Sunday at Big Bend above Agness. The morning will feature language class and a raffle. Drumming and dancing, vendors, etc. At 6:30 pm will be the Grand Entry followed by the evening meal. There will be Turkey, Ham, Salmon, and traditional Native foods. Saturday morning will be a breakfast followed by drumming and dancing and later, canoe races at Foster Bar. A storyteller will be present to teach native history. We will be under fire restrictions of no briquets and no generators, but will use propane for cooking. Unlike normally where we can dance late into the evening we will have to shut down when it gets dark due to fire restrictions. A rumor was going around that the Pow Wow was cancelled, but that is untrue, so come and enjoy!
