I was trapped, beaten and raped for 2 years. I lost 2 pregnancies and nearly lost my son several times to my abuser. After he got his angry fists on me everything was destroyed to remind me he controlled everything. I was dead inside for 2 years just trying to survive. My son was in the nicu after he was born for 11 days after an emergency c section due to another fit of rage. After my son came home my abuser attacked my son so against all death threats I ran to protect my baby. We lived out of my car for a while until I found a couple people to move in with. Born from rape or not he is my everything and everyday I get a little stronger. The holidays are approaching and it's bitter sweet my son is alive we are free from the monsters rage. I am still having a series of procedures to correct the damage that monster caused me but i will be celebrating thanksgiving over turkey baby food and an empty Christmas but it's worth it. The holidays also remind me that many haven't found a roof for the very cold winter we are heading into. Would you help me in getting fabric scraps that I can make blankets with. I don't ask for me I feel so blessed to free my son from living the abuse I suffered but I'd love for mothers like me who weren't so lucky to have a present for Christmas and a warm blanket to wrap their babies in.
