Listener Comments and Reviews
Just discovered this station and I LOVE IT! 93.5 used to be my station for "oldies" but they're playing mostly 70's and 80's. This station plays great 50's and 60's music. And a HUGE variety - not just the same ones that get repeated everywhere else - they play a lot of rarer ones too!
By: Megan on January 4, 2017
I just came across it today. GREAT station. I won't be listening to anything else from now on.
By: Mike Gorny on January 5, 2017
Great music mix, something for every one. A promising start for a new school program. A great benefit to our community / area.
By: Jim on January 6, 2017
Loving the 50s and 60s music! Hearing a lot of songs from the past. Keep up the good work! Hope this format continues.. my dial will not move!
By: Judy on January 14, 2017
Great station. Love the 50's and 60's music!
By: rita on January 19, 2017
Just found WNLB and love the playlist! Oldies but not the ones we hear over and over.
By: John and Marcia Fleitz on January 23, 2017
Love this station! Playlist has songs from 50's and 60's seldom heard. Hope this is not temporary. My radio is set to 97.7!
By: Nancy on January 24, 2017
I, too, just came across this trying to find something enjoyable to listen to on the way to work. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. I too, hope this is not temporary.
It has been fun to listen to and a great jumpstart to my day.
By: MELANIE on January 26, 2017
Just discovered this station, and I couldn't be happier. Was missing the 50s and 60s stuff that 93.5 used to play and found it here. What makes it even better is that the songs aren't the same one or two hits that are normally played, but instead also include deeper cuts by the artists that are equally enjoyable. Please keep this format and stick around!
By: Jeff on January 30, 2017
Awesome Radio -I'm locked in.
By: John Fleischmann on January 31, 2017
This is my new favorite station in town! Like Megan and Jeff said, this station plays great hits of the 50s and 60s that I love, like 93.5 wrqn USED TO play! (Now the 93.5 format is pretty terrible in my opinion). I also love that they play some more obscure songs you wouldn't expect to hear. Wonderful stuff, please keep it up!
By: Bruce on February 4, 2017
thanks for the great oldies.
By: TED on February 9, 2017
Just discovered this station! Please don't ever leave me! Love. Love. Love.
By: sherry grove on February 9, 2017
Go for a higher power license! This is a great station and a nice opportunity for the students.
By: B.T. on February 18, 2017
Heard about your station a couple of days ago. Started listening today discovered that all of the WOW comments are right on target. I've been looking for a station like this for years! THANK YOU.......THANK YOU!
By: Steve Gray on February 20, 2017
Love this station! I found it a few weeks ago. I've been telling my friends, but unfortunately the signal is too weak for them to receive it. I live in Maumee and I get this station. I have it on when I go to work, but lose it when I arrive in downtown Toledo. You should cover the entire city with this great music. :-)
By: R.B. on February 23, 2017
i don`t know how long this station has been on the air but it is just great. came across it looking for something to listen to that was decent. you are the best.
By: karen h. on February 28, 2017
The station hit the airwaves last November. They do fill a void in the market playing 50s & 60s however the playlist is too diverse. Should not be tight and limited to the same music, however they play "some" (obscure) music that really did not chart well compared to the greatest hits of that era. Contrary to what others are saying about 93.5 - they are not bad - WRQN plays 70s & 80s music to a later generation of baby boomers who are younger and did not grow up in the 50s & 60s. WRQN is one of the highest rated stations in the market!
WNLB-LP identifies as Fun 97 at the top of the hour. They should give some consideration to something more creative that incorporates their call sign like B-Bop 97 for example. The low power station will not be able to increase power in the near future as there is a full power station in Castalia on the same channel. Perhaps they can stream their audio for added coverage.
It'll be interesting (to see) how the station evolves. They should give consideration not only to training students in the basics of radio broadcasting, but also allow them some creativity on the air as that was an era in radio when deejays were quite creative. Give them time they haven't been on the air even 6 months.
Kind of ironic as most of the people involved with the station from the students to the educators probably were even around when the music they're playing was popular.

Terrific to find all the songs that we sang all the wrong words to...but loved the beats. :)
By: Teri Miller on March 8, 2017
A pleasant surprise!!.......Nice to hear '50s & '60s music on the radio again..(CKWW AM580 out of Windsor is having antenna issues again!)
Hoping next year you can add more early '70s music to the mix...
Keep it up!

What an AWESOME channel - No "Freaking" commercials ! I Love it - I Love it.... Great selection and great tunes - 93.5 used to be a channel I listened to but they have been over taken by all of the advertising and plays more commercials then music. Keep it up 97.7 - Great job !

Love it, love it, love it! Just discovered this great station a few days ago. Kudos to Springfield Schools.

I live in NC and have Sirius satellite radio in my truck. 50's & 60's.. is all I listen to. MY brother in Toledo, Ohio called and told me of this station. He Loves it! Am happy for him and others to have such a great station to listen to! Keep up the great broadcasting!
By: Gail W. on April 24, 2017
As an SHS grad, I am so pleased to have found this station! One request, if a song is played (especially an instrumental) is there a way for us to get the name so we can order it from iTunes? Possibly a listing of songs played every 24 hours? These songs are great for a Senior Prom (Senior Citizens that is!) My FAVORITE station!
By: Vicki H on May 1, 2017
Use the Soundhound application on the smartphone. Tells you the song, artist, lyrics etc. Great application! I would like to see 97.7 WNLB-LP added to some radio applications so I could listen to the station through my smartphone/bluetooth speakers.
By: Walter K on May 20, 2017
Love your station. Discovered it on my way to work this morning. I will definitely listen to you everyday!
By: Suzie Stover on May 25, 2017
Your station is the only one we listen to within 15 miles from Springfield High School. You play all our favorite oldies from our Jr High and High Scool years, they brought us the best music ever! Thank you, we hope this "Fun" station never ends. Congratulations to all involved!
By: John and Linda Meyer on May 29, 2017
Wow just found this! Love this station!
By: Deb Johnson on May 30, 2017
I just found out about your 'great' station! It's nice to hear music that you can really hear the words to, and bringing back the roots of rock 'n' roll will give many younger kids some appreciation of what grandma and grandpa grew up with. You've got a listener now! I'll pass this info out to many friends and keep up the good work!
By: Steve Zuber on June 1, 2017
How can we get it setup on the computer to listen to it?
By: Linda Dickinson on June 9, 2017
Great to finally find a station that "gets it". How wonderful to listen to all the great memories. I was very weary of stations that played the same 100 songs. All of the Toledo stations seem to sound the same except for yours. Keep up the good work!
By: Tom Ross on June 12, 2017
I absolutely love your station!
It's the best in town!
It makes my heart sing with joy, especially when I hear so much variety all.the.time.
Please let me know how I can live stream, as I would like to listen to your station everywhere, not just my driving time.
By: Judy Thomaswick on June 16, 2017
Came across this radio station about two weeks ago and haven't listened to any other station since then. Love the constant 50s and 60s! Best radio station in the area today. Keep those oldies coming!
By: Stevo in Toledo on June 24, 2017

By: Bob Kovar on June 24, 2017
Recently discovered 97.7 Bluedevil Radio and although I'm a Yellowjacket from Pburg, I really enjoy the station! Reception can be a little tricky on certain days, but I'll even listen with some static in the background. Thanks for providing this music option, Springfield HS! :)
By: Dan Curson on June 28, 2017
Love this station!! Good job students and administration.
By: Joan Kose on July 11, 2017
I discovered your station by accident last week and I love it. The music is awesome
By: Ron on July 14, 2017
I found your station a few days ago and I've been listening ever since. I wish it could be heard further away - my mom is in the Cleveland area and was a teenager in the 50's - she'd love it! It would also be nice for people with dementia who grew up in that era, as older memories are retained longer. Thanks so much!
By: Mary on July 18, 2017
I listen to wnlb when I'm in the area of maumee. Bowling green has a religious station on the same freq. Would like to hear your station streaming. Commercial radio needs to advertise to exist, but in the Toledo market your station fills a void that has been needed for a while. Thanks to the school for their farsightedness and bringing this station to fruition....
By: Chuck Dicken on July 31, 2017
I can't thank you guys enough for this station. I just discovered it and it is truly amazing. I listen to music I haven't heard since Junior High School, which was eons ago, and I am happy. There isn't too much nowadays, at my age, that makes me happy, but listening and singing along with this music always puts a smile on my face. Most of this was done before any of you were even thought of, but I hope you are enjoying it as much as I do. Please don't stop.
By: Lori T. Cramer on July 31, 2017
I LOVE this station. We are planning our 50th high school reunion CCHS class of 1968. I was wondering if playlists were available. Also wondered if any of your in air people did any deejaying. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks
By: Judy Baehren on August 2, 2017
Awesome music. You students are great to take your time to DJ this fabulous oldies station. I've turned a lot of people on to it. Keep up the great great old tunes. :)
By: DeeDee Steinman on August 4, 2017
I love u guys this is the best music ever and I am so happy, that you brought the 50's and 60's music, back to the Toledo area. Thank u so much. Rock and Roll will always be it will never die. This is the best radio station around.

I love this station! It is THEE BEST! I wish it had more power so I could listen to it longer while driving. It's always on in my garage! I just can't believe all the great songs that keep coming! It's my favorite out of everything out there! Don't stop what you're doin!
By: KIM G SHEA on September 10, 2017
WOW! Thanks to my brother, I'm hooked on your radio station! It's been a very long time since I've listened to music in my car. There isn't another station out there that even comes close to the variety and selections these amazing students choose to play. Hats off to all involved !
Word-of-mouth will be your least expensive and most effective way to grow your fan base. Based on your reviews, it appears your on your way to being the #1 OLDIE station in the area. Let's all spread the word!
By: Cindy King in Perrysburg on September 14, 2017
Love the music. Just downloaded the app so I can listen no matter where I am!!
By: Cheryl M on September 21, 2017
I love your radio station! You play songs I normally don't hear on the radio and no commercials! Brings back memories of grade and high school. It's the only radio station I listen to now. I wish you had a longer range so I could hear it at least 20 miles from you. Germano
By: Germano Bressan on October 1, 2017
I used to be a disc jockey for 20 years at Oldies 104.3 WOMC in Detroit. I deive through Ohio alot nd i found your station. Love the music. Just to let you know, the copys your playing of Hooray For Hazel by Tommy Roe and Western Movies by the Olympics are NOT the originals, but remakes they did in the 70's and 80's. There is a record show coming up on Novemver 5th at St. Clements where you can find a lot of original oldies on CD.
By: John Freist on October 5, 2017
Love, love, love this station! Wish you had a broader range! Don't ever go away, please.
By: sherry grove on October 7, 2017
Do you stream on the Internet? WRQN plays 80s junk and abandoned all 60's and many 70's tunes, but I can't get your signal in Oregon, OH
By: Dr Johnny Fever on October 8, 2017
WONDEFUL! GREAT! KEEP UP THE CLASSIC MUSIC! FINE JPB! Can you get a larger coverage area?
By: Susan T. on October 11, 2017
Baby come back by The Equals is a redone version, not the original
By: John Freist on October 12, 2017
Great breath of fresh air, i just wish it were stronger and possibly an app for this great station, thank you
By: Woody on October 13, 2017
Wow...... Haven't heard this much great music since sock hops at DHS in the early 60's. Thanks for bringing back many memories to my classmate from the second grade, my girlfriend, and now wife for almost 48 years. Any chance of boosting up a few more watts towards Bedford? Thanks. Al / Janet. (Deshler Ohio Class of 65')
By: Big Al from Bedford.... on November 8, 2017
I was in Toledo over Thanksgiving and found this station. It is my idea of radio heaven. Unfortunately, I live in Chicago. Does anyone know of similar stations elsewhere in the Midwest?
By: pgsaia on November 29, 2017
Best station I've heard in a long time. Thank you students for thinking of people our age. I tell everyone about 97.7
By: Sandy K on December 8, 2017
Agree with what every one has said, I LOVE this station. For those who are out of range, you can download their app to your phone and listen to it there. (Im listening on the phone right now.) I also connect via Bluetooth in my car and listen anywhere. Every so often the teacher/advisor gets on the air and gives the app url. I'd love to keep this station going, can we make donations?
By: Pamela Blakey on December 12, 2017
I, too, came across this station about 6 months ago while scanning the radio. Unbelievable that these kids, who didn't even grow up in the generation of the music they play, are right on target! This station would beat any other Toledo station 'hands down' if they just had more power. There's a note above that Castalia has the same call number so they can't increase the High Schools power. Maybe look for a different frequency. I live in South Toledo so I can pull the station in fine at home. However, I work in Oregon and start to lose it just after downtown. They do offer a free App which is great. I listened to them while in Florida and while working outside. The App works flawlessly. Everyone should download it if you like listening to this station. I think they play a great variety of songs with minimal interruptions. Spread the word about this station. These kids are doing a fantastic job. Thanks 97.7!
By: Jeff Gramza on December 12, 2017
change the frequency and trash the other stations and crank it up ,i did when i was in radio.
By: duane the rock johnson on December 13, 2017
I wish they could power up a bit. I lost it when getting a little ways away. Love the oldies they play
By: Dennis Dickey on December 21, 2017
I'm 36 years old and I LOVE this station! I looked to switch during 101.5's annoying excessive 24-7 Christmas (as an alarm station) and stopped on 93.5 for a few days but was meh on it. Why did the oldies station stop playing golden oldies? (There's no precedence for what oldies stations *should* play - radio hasn't been around long enough they just decided to shift up decades which is pointless. How many stations in town need to play 80s music???)
I found this and it's been my favorite for months! No commercials (horray!), no annoying commentary by annoying DJs, just fantastic variety of great oldies. It's the perfect way to start my day, and I listen in the car too.
Thanks, Springfield High School! Don't change it! 😊
By: Laura Schmidt on January 17, 2018
I have invested over 150k in a stereo system, and have one of the best FM tuners that has been modified so your station is coming in GREAT, don't believe me? Send a teacher or student here to listen.... I would be more than happy for anybody to audition!,, keep me coming
By: Terry duszynski on January 26, 2018
DOWNLOAD THE APP! YOU CAN LISTEN ANYWHERE, ANYTIME! SEARCH FOR "WNLB" IN YOUR APP STORE. IT'S FREE!
By: Mark Davidson on January 29, 2018
Consistently the BEST oldies station in town! That's great for Springfield High School, and definitely to their credit...but it's also a pretty sad comment on the state of commercial radio in the Toledo area (a free, no commercial, low-power station out of a high school is kicking your ass). Always interesting selection, with some real rarities mixed in. Number one on my car radio!
By: Paul on February 10, 2018
I'm surprised that the best mix and and widest variety on my dial is coming from a low budget, low wattage station broadcasting from a local high school but on the other hand, it makes perfect sense
