Spanish Catholic radio headed to Sacramento

May 9, 2011

A new non-profit group related to the Catholic Diocese of Sacramento is buying radio station KRJY (now KCVV) 1240 AM from Diamond Broadcasting. According to FCC filings from today the purchase price is set at 1.39 million dollars. Over the past several years Catholic groups in the Sacramento area have been aggressively pursing a second media outlet, in addition to English Catholic station KSMH 1620, to broadcast Spanish Catholic programming. The deal will take several months to complete and it is expected that the Spanish Catholic programming will begin shortly after the deal is complete.
